Job Description:

• Knowledge of Standard 1554.3:2014 Welding of Reinforcing Steel (If you require
referencing, copy is in warehouse office and warehouse kitchen)
• Daily Prestart checklist for all workstations. This includes MEP Gam cage machine,
• Read schedules/drawings and job card or read measurements to plan layout and
• Quality check while doing works, quantity, and measurements.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements of
• Set up components for welding according to specifications per schedule (e.g. Using
jigs at both manual and cage machine to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders, drop saw, bench grinders to prepare the parts that must be
• Align components using callipers, tape measure, clamp pieces etc.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to companies
WPS (Welding Specification Specification)
• Repair machinery and other components
• Visually inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety


Relevant Certificate III and 2 years of experience, relevant Certificate IV or relevant
vocational training preferred.


Work Experience
• Proven experience as welder
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG)
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (Grinder, Rattle gun, spanner, Drop
Saw, Hex keys)
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
(face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Skilful ability and attention to detail
• Proficient in English
• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
• Understand and follow protocol for the proper lines of communication.
• Clear understanding of company mission and values
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills Assessment
• TRA skills assessment required.
• No formal training or qualification – 5 years of relevant full-time work experience
• With formal training or qualification – 3 years of relevant full-time work experience
