Job Description:

  1. Inspecting Tires: Thoroughly examine tires to assess their condition and determine if they are suitable for retreading.

  2. Buffing Tires: Use specialized equipment to remove the old tread from tires, preparing them for the retreading process.

  3. Applying New Tread: Apply new rubber tread to the prepared tire casings using retreading machinery and techniques.

  4. Curing Tires: Place retreaded tires into curing chambers or autoclaves to bond the new tread to the tire casing under controlled heat and pressure.

  5. Quality Control: Ensure that retreaded tires meet industry standards and quality specifications, including tread depth, adhesion, and appearance.

  6. Repairing Tires: Address any defects or damage on tire casings before the retreading process to ensure the integrity of the final product.

  7. Maintaining Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on retreading machinery and tools to ensure proper functioning and safety.

  8. Adhering to Safety Protocols: Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

  9. Recording Data: Keep accurate records of the retreading process, including the number of tires processed, materials used, and any quality control issues.

  10. Collaborating with Team: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors, technicians, and quality control inspectors, to ensure efficient operations and meet production goals.

  11. Customer Service: Provide assistance and support to customers, including addressing inquiries, providing product information, and resolving any issues or concerns.

  12. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements in the retreading process.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in tire retreading or a related field is often preferred but not always required, as some employers provide on-the-job training.
  3. Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity to operate retreading equipment and tools.
  4. Knowledge of tire types, sizes, and tread patterns.
  5. Attention to detail to ensure quality control in the retreading process.
  6. Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  7. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy tires.
  8. Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
