Job Description:

  • Oversee Baking Operations: Manage daily baking operations, ensuring quality and consistency in all baked goods.
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and mentor a team of bakers and kitchen staff, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage ingredient stock to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Recipe Development: Create and refine recipes, introducing new products and seasonal items to the menu.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all products meet the bakery's quality standards and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Scheduling: Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak times and special events.
  • Sanitation: Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the baking area, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of recipes, production volumes, and inventory usage.
  • Collaboration: Work with other departments (e.g., sales, marketing) to promote bakery products and coordinate special orders.

Qualifications:

  • Baking and pastry degree or equivalent
  • 4 years of management experience in a bakery
  • Ability to produce quality breads and pastries
  • Creativity in baking and pastry production
  • Experience in training bakery personnel
  • Experience in decorating cakes
