Job Description:
- Install and finish various interior and exterior wooden structures, including trim, molding, doors, windows, cabinets, and staircases.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or design plans to determine specifications and materials required.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other construction materials to fit the given specifications.
- Install and fit doors, windows, hardware, and other finishing components.
- Apply finishes such as stains, varnishes, or paint to wood surfaces.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn-out structures or fixtures.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and measuring tools.
- Ensure work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople or contractors on larger projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry preferred.
- Proven experience 5 years as a finishing carpenter or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools related to carpentry work.
- Knowledge of various types of wood, materials, and finishes used in carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or design plans.
- Attention to detail and precision in measurements and installations.
- Understanding of building codes, safety practices, and regulations.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle manual labor and work in various conditions.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and interpret project requirements.
