Job Description:
- Finish castings using hand tools, power tools, and machinery according to specifications and quality standards.
- Perform grinding, sanding, and polishing operations to remove imperfections and smooth surfaces on castings.
- Inspect finished castings for defects, such as cracks, pits, or rough spots, and make necessary corrections.
- Operate equipment, such as grinders, sanders, and polishers, safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma + 1 year post secondary diploma or certification.
- Previous experience in finishing or casting operations preferred.
- Knowledge of casting processes and materials.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machinery used in finishing operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
